Introduction to a Faceless YouTube Channel’s Income Streams
This faceless YouTube channel has five income streams that are generating over $5.8 th000 every single day—that’s over $175,000 a month without showing face and without recording any videos. As someone who’s been doing YouTube over the last 10 years and has faceless channels generating tens of thousands of dollars a month, I dug deeper into this channel to try to understand how they’re actually making money. What I found is actually kind of weird.
Overview of This Tutorial
In this step-by-step tutorial, I want to show you what I discovered over a full week of researching this channel and exactly how this channel actually makes that much money in five different ways. At the end, I’m going to show you how you can get started for completely free.
Channel Background
My name is Dave Nick, and the channel in question is Alux.com, which currently has 4.5 million subscribers. They’re posting these simple finance and self-improvement videos. Some of their most popular titles are 15 Things Poor People Do That Rich Don’t and 15 Insane Things You Didn’t Know About Pablo Escobar.
Video Format and Content
If you open up any of these videos, you can see that they’re basically just using footage, sometimes even just stock footage, and they’re not really showing their face. They just have a simple voice-over in the background.
Income Stream #1: Ad Revenue
If I pull up this tool that shows me how many views they’re getting per month, we can see they’re getting approximately 2.7 million views per month, which is actually a lot less than what they usually do—as you can see, it’s like 200% less than what they usually get.
I know from my channels that are in a similar niche—for example, this one for 900,000 views generated $37,000 in ad revenue. We can see this thing called RPM or Revenue Per Mille, which shows how much you’re being paid for 1,000 views. My RPM here was like $39 per 1,000 views.
But let’s say they’re making a lot less because they’re not me—so let’s say they’re only making $15 per 1,000 views in this niche, which is actually a very high CPM niche as it talks about finance and self-improvement.
Now, I’m going to ask ChatGPT: if I’m paid $15 for 1,000 views, how much did I make for this amount of views? It shows me that from ad revenue, I made $41,000 in the last month.
Monetization Requirements
To make money from ad revenue, regardless of whether they’re faceless or not, videos need to be approved into YouTube’s Partner Program. This means your channel needs to have 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time over the last 12 months.
For some people, that can take 6 to 12 months. But now you can get instantly monetized at dfy dave.com monetization, so you don’t have to wait for months to start monetizing your content.
Income Stream #2: Apps
The second income stream that this channel has, which makes them a little more money, is their apps available on the App Store and Google Play Store. According to this website with their app analysis, their iOS app is generating about $40,000 per month in revenue.
They have different membership plans starting around $14 to $15 per month. Their Android app also makes $10,000 a month, so in total, both apps are making $50,000 per month.
Income Stream #3: Digital Products and Courses
Their third income source is this website they promote, which is their main platform at Alux.com. They sell digital courses or products starting at $240 and going up to $500 per course.
According to SimilarWeb, the site gets about 146,000 views per month. Let’s say their lifetime value (LTV) of a customer is $500, and the conversion rate is only 0.1%. That still calculates to $73,000 per month from digital products.
Income Stream #4: Affiliate Marketing
Their fourth income stream comes from affiliate marketing. I noticed they include links in their video descriptions, such as NordVPN, Audible, and Shopify. These links earn commissions when viewers sign up or purchase through them.
For example, NordVPN offers up to 100% commission for new sign-ups, and Audible pays $5 per free sign-up. Even with low conversion rates, affiliate marketing adds approximately $3.5 th000 per month to their earnings.
Income Stream #5: Sponsored Videos
The fifth income stream is sponsored videos. These include paid promotions where they mention companies for 30 to 60 seconds. From my analysis, they likely charge around $15,000 per sponsored video and do about four per month, generating an additional $60,000 per month.
